For this piece, I sculpted a moon face by first shaping a round clay form and then carefully carving in the facial features. I blended the eyes, nose, and mouth into the surface so they felt like part of the moon itself. To create texture, I added craters and small marks across the surface, giving it a realistic lunar feel. This project was really fun to make because it mixed both realism and imagination, and it has become one of my favorite pieces.

Under glaze
For this tile, I used underglaze to make a ladybug by painting the wings red, adding black spots, and filling in the head and antennae. The small details were hard to paint smoothly, and I honestly didn’t like how it turned out. Still, it gave me practice with underglaze and working carefully on a small surface.

For this piece, I shaped a small square form out of clay and then pressed a star design into the center. I also added four small holes around the star to give it more detail and texture. The process was simple, but I had to carefully press into the clay so it wouldn’t crack or lose its shape. Honestly, I don’t really like how it turned out the edges feel uneven and the details aren’t as clean as I wanted. Still, it was good practice experimenting with pressing shapes and creating texture in clay.
